Pattern & Tutorial: Modified (enlarged) Missouri Star Quilt Company Houndstooth Quilt
Quilt Size: 66 x 72.5” (68 x 77” before shrinking)
Block Size: 4.5” finished
Fabric: Solid grey and solid white from Connecting Threads. Backing - Felicity by P&B Textiles purchased from Weaver's.
Technique: Sewed pieced blocks into nine units; divided quilt top into sections to make quilting easier. Pressed pieced seams to side (vs. open) to better conceal where sections were joined. Glue basted units onto large batting rectangles and straight-line quilted. Sewed units together to complete quilt top. Attached backing using stitch-in-the-ditch technique on vertical seams away from section seams to further conceal joined units. Hand stitched binding.
Notes: This is a wedding gift for our son and his fiancé who are getting married in June. It's the first quilt top I've made using solid fabric.
CARE - 100% cotton fabric; machine wash and tumble dry. All Thread Projects quilts are pre-washed in cold water and pre-shrunk in a hot dryer before gifting.
