Carnival Squares Quilt
Completed:  October 2014
Pattern:  Carnival Squares by Nancy Smith, a "Strip Your Stash" Craftsy Class pattern
Quilt Size:  36" x 42"
Block Size:  6" finished
Fabric:  Drift fabric scraps from previous "Brooklyn Blues" quilt.  Used flannel fabric for backing and binding.
Technique:  Created fabric "yardage" by sewing various size strips together.  Cut 6.5" square blocks on diagonal.  Quilted blocks with wavy lines on batting squares and used quilt-as-you-go method / stitch-in-the-ditch technique to attach whole cloth backing fabric.  Used quilt back as binding fabric for the first time.
Tutorial: Binding a quilt with the quilt back
Notes:  First time using method described in Quilt-As-You-Go Made Modern by Jera Brandvig which makes domestic machine quilting easier.
CARE - 100% cotton fabric; machine wash and tumble dry. All Thread Projects quilts are pre-washed in cold water and pre-shrunk in a hot dryer before gifting.
